So I just moved the site over to a new server. *pants*

I was getting tired of the slowness and "Wordpress cannot connect to database" and so on that I was getting more and more with my shared hosting, so I got a virtual private server and moved it all. I have a lot more dedicated resources now, so those problems should go away. And I have full control over the server environment, so if something breaks, I can now fix it myself right away. (The bad news is, if something breaks, I have to fix it myself right away.)

It's going to take a few days for everybody's domain name servers to get the new IP address, so there may be some flakiness during that time. The previous site has had comments turned off and the forum disabled, so if you can comment and read this message, then you're on the good server. Now cross your fingers and hold your thumbs with me, and let's hope I can keep it running.

(The server's name is matilda, by the way. )

Some things that I know are broken:

• The bio pages will probably be down or seriously wonky until I get in there and fix them. But I plan to add some more features to them, like info about the Sims themselves, so that's good.
• The old family tree pages will still be up on the unforgetting.com site, I think, but I won't be updating them anymore.
• Any links like http://www.unforgetting.com/lothere/... will no longer work. I will try to get a redirect set up later.

I think that commenting on the story and on verso should work, and likewise in the forum, but I wouldn't recommend posting any magnum opus that you would be horrified to lose if, tragically, the database had to be restored from a few-days-old backup.
