The transitive property of phwoariness operates as a sufficient but not necessary condition of phwoar. The very existence of Sir Sigefrith demonstrates that there is an entire class of phwoar outside of the phwoar generated by Lar's face.

(I admit I would not want to see Lar + Sigefrith myself. But Lar + Araphel? )

What I really would have loved is a Larl-Dasi couple. They were pretty wonderful together anyway, but I think they could have had a really wonderful (and lulzy) dynamic. I really miss Dartesas.

But if there was a way to get me to like Imin, a hilarious romantic relationship with Larl would be an excellent start.

Imin and Lar get high together all the time, so it would have happened by now if that was enough. (Or maybe they need to get high together alone?) Maybe they need to get drunk? Something nice and inhibition-limiting? Elves don't seem to handle alcohol well.

I LOLed at Van's "So, where are we, Lar?" but on second thought I rather imagine it going the other way. With Lar giving him pitiful puppy dog glances, and Imin gritting his teeth, all "Not now, Lar... Not in public, Lar... It was just one time, dammit! And it never happened!" I am really not sure who would wake up more OH NOES! MY REPUTATION! the next morning.

I do have other plans for those two but I wouldn't rule out something like that happening. The chemistry is there. They're like Finn and Gwynn -- they can't keep their hands off each other. And who are they always looking at across a crowded room? Hmm?

Back on topic: I thought of Kormak myself when I was going through my list of phwoary characters. But this is the Phwaoriest Profile Pageant, not Phwoariest Man (oh do we need one of those too?) and Kormak's profile is just kind of... cute. Like Imin's actually. Their phwoar is frontal. It is hard to seductively leer at someone in profile.

Lar + Imin would be like that crazy hate-filled passionate love that is just oh-so-hot :O

It's his mouth that ruins it for me. Shus has a handsome nose, but his mouth just isn't kissable. Whereas I could work on Lar's lips for hours.

I have a total crush on Aelfden, Van. He's one of the most charismatic, magnetic, fascinating characters in the whole story, in my opinion. I love love love.
So *I* at least certainly wouldn't say you have bad taste for all that.

But is he equally magnetic from the side? I find his profile kind of Sigefrithian.

I do, however, find him absolutely magnetic. Not just magnetic, but surrounded by an electric field that makes my hair stand on end. I would probably make out with him. But unlike with Lar, it would be the result of a moment spent staring into his eyes...

That is a really good question... there aren't even that many people in the story who are attracted to him, as far as I can tell. Maybe we (those of use who are women) have a hard time swallowing his opinion of our sex? I'd rather tangle with (or make out with) a woman-hater than a man who just pats me on the head and says "That's nice dear, now run along play."

Maybe it's the nose-picking?

Maybe his frequent chimpanzee-like antics?

He's supposed to be tall and thin, so he seems kind of gangly and elbow-jabby anyway, compared to massive men like Leofric.

And it's a shame it was only that once, because that is how I always imagined Sigefrith. He's supposed to be majestic dammit.

I know, I was just thinking how I started this story thinking it would be Sigefrith's story, and by now he's practically not even a MAIN character. How did this happen?

Sigefrith is one of those guys who gets along great with other guys, but he's not only clueless about women, he also doesn't interest them particularly. The only woman in the story who ever really appreciated Sigefrith (except for Eadie, but she probably likes the head-patting) was Matilda. Once when she got drunk she did mention what a "fine big man" he was so she might have been attracted to him at least a bit. Of course she didn't mind the fart jokes and the nose-picking. I guess Lady Eadgith has a lot of respect for him too, but although she's not a fart-joke-teller herself, she is probably immune to that by now and can see past it.

As a leader he's good though. Really good. A shame we don't see more of Sigefrith actually being a king, since he might seem phwoarier if we saw him doing what he really does well. Hopefully Eirik will stir up the pot enough over the next few weeks and months that we will get some opportunities to watch him in action.

Actually, Vash and Lar making out would be really fantastic, for more reasons than one. I don't think it's ever going to happen (though who knows!) So that's a double whammy there.

And: on current topic, there was that part where Godefroy met Sigefrith, which was incredibly interesting if a little surprise-worthy in how awed he was. The problem with Sigefrith, I think, is that we know him too well, and that this story is definitely focused more on the romantic! than the politicking, which means that we don't see his king-face too often.
