That saying is very true. Ever since I was little I've wanted straight hair, although to be fair, no one ever taught me that what you're not supposed to do with curly hair is comb it, so I was a messy looking kid. Now I like my hair just fine, though it is hard to maintain. Not as difficult as Pen's, I imagine, but her look is so cool it must be worth it.

Jenny, my beauty routine consists of getting out of bed and taking a shower. I let nature take care of the rest. I'm too lazy as well.

(Sorry to double post! Just missed something that popped out to me. Whole other side to UBC, I'm kind of glad I didn't go now!! )

Back in early-Iraq-War days when I wanted a ticket out of the States, I applied to UVic and UBC. UBC DIDN'T FREAKING GET BACK TO ME!!! I can only assume my application and/or admission letter were lost in transit, because OK I'm not Einstein and I had changed majors a few times (making me look indecisive? dunno), but geez, honors program and deans list and all that and they don't even say "No thanks"? You blew it, UBC.

But all in all it worked out because I love Victoria. IT WAS LIKE DESTINY.

Seriously? Wow. I sent UBC a request almost two years ago now, and not even three days afterwards they got back to me and were trying to get me in (and no, I'm not a genius. I had a bad case of senioritus that year... whoops). I received a denial letter at least though, that's pretty underhanded they didn't send you anything.

UVic is cool too. I really wish I applied there back when I was trying like mad to get into UBC, but oh well. I don't really like my uni here, but I like my dept. so as long as they don't sack the dept. head anytime soon, I'll hang around in washington.
I really plan on working in either Alaska or B.C. eventually though. I've always liked it there. That, or Finland a/o Russia. Too many friends have invited me there, it's so tempting.

Stuff like that make me glad the education system in my country doesn't require application letters. Otherwise I'd be doomed

Actually, the exact opposite is true. My hair is wash and go. The real nightmare was spending the first twenty years of my life trying to get it as straight as possible. So much wasted time and money and effort. So many bad haircuts.

Yes, we were in a Tim Horton's in Columbus. They don't have them everywhere in the States, (like Starbucks) but they're in some of the larger cities.

That is indeed my natural color, greys & all. I don't color it because:
1. Maintenance costs money I need more for food
2. If I color it, then I won't be able to donate it when I'm ready for a cut.

Meh, I used to be a towhead when I was a kid. In the summertime my hair & my brother's would be almost white.

Ah, hockey. I miss it. There was a minor league team where I used to live in NC. Seat were relatively inexpensive so we used to go to some of the games.

Poutine seems like something that could be good in small quantities, but only if it's well-made. The only poutine I've had is at New York Fries, and while their fries are good, and cheese curds are cheese curds, "beef" gravy out of a can is not something I would put in any of the food groups.

What you want to do is select the [IMG] code to the left of the image (under "Share this Image") and copy and paste that here. Then change the [IMG] tags to what you had -- you got that part right.

So, here's a pic of me. Everyone else looks so FABULOUS! .... thought it was time you saw Wawa. The first is a photo when I brought a tour to Victoria, the second is from one of those "old time photo studios" located in Victoria. I had brought some clients to it one day and we all had our pictures taken. Theirs was hysterical. The ladies use to be dancers so they dressed as saloon girls showing off their "assets" to the guys dressed as bar patrons. I wish they had sent me one. Oh well. Herrrrrrrrrrre's Wawa!

Think this is a good place to let you people see this ninja reader. I've made my forum accound a while ago already but I was a bit ashamed for uploading a ... very crappy avatar. I was to shy (yes I'm even somewhay internet shy).
Small intro for you guys or should I be opening a new topic for that?
Okay my name as you can see is Miriam I'm 21 years old now ... getting closer and closer to 22. (Birthday is March 20). I love fantasy stuff. You can see me on the Elf Fantasy Fair every year (dressed up in a nice elven/medieval dress). Other stuff aside from reading here or reading books I love to write too but the only reader is my sister. I did make sims after my characters for fun but they're only my eye candy at the moment (and yup they're well bit medieval more fantasy styled).
My main languages are (in the right order) Dutch, German (my mum is German), English...and ... I just started learning French this year (but I'm not able to speak a word yet). I know a few things here and there from some other languages too.
I live in the beautiful city of Gouda. If you're in the Netherlands and you love a bit somewhat old buildings and musea than go visit it. (The curch has kewl glas stained windows).
Let's see what else... Ah well I draw a lot... and I will be working on a nursery school soon for a while I hope the kids are nice. Think that'll be enough for now it's kind of late for me and this is a photo topic but okay now atleast you guys know me a little. I still won't comment a lot because I'm reading and all and although I don't mind a few spoilers here and there I don't want to know every thing yet untill I'm fully up to date. I'm getting there! As for location I once went on some map showing the location of your IP address it once showed up as Woerden (Woerden isn't all to far away something like 15 km? I think) Some other odd time when visiting some ones blog I showed up as a visitor with location somewhere (dunno what city it was) in Limburg the province Limburg is something like a cardrive of 2 hours away. Oh wel...

As for how far I am in the story hmm let's see I'm just done with 1250 ... So I'm getting there. At one of my first visits I did read a newer post something with a little kid called seven. But I thought: Aaah I don't understand anything of the story I don't know the characters. So went to the start and since than I did have peeked at some newer posts but well stuff is still easier to understand if you've read more that fills the gap of time. So the only new posts I've really read are the ones that take place in the past.
