(Haha, I already assumed that there must be a secret website for insiders, where you get your beautiful Sims stuff from). I wouldn’t mind if you upload all your recolours from your little treasure chest and share them with us, since there’s not enough medieval stuff out there. (Oops, I know – the time factor!)

Fixed the black scalp bug

Published November 11, 2009 09:33 AM

I believe I mentioned this in the chat a few weeks ago: I had noticed that Paul’s scalp had gone black, and any hair that showed his scalp looked AWFUL with his blond hair. Even his current hair had a black stripe down the part, as if he were growing out his roots:

Some new peasant Sims

Published January 25, 2009 02:50 PM

I added some new Sims for existing Lotherian residents today, in preparation for an upcoming chapter. I put up their pictures, so if you’re interested in such things, you can have a look. (And have fun guessing how they all end up in the same chapter.)

I don’t know about you, but I’m already dying to know more about that massive weaponsmith with the burned face. :shock:UPDATE: I decided to make the “Leof” from previous chapters be Leofsy, the son of the Bernwald reeve, rather than the carpenter I linked above. I was looking for a peasant boy of about 18 years named Leof-something and I picked the first one I found. But later I noticed that Leofsy was the son-in-law of Seaxbeorht, and I liked that idea a lot better. It also would explain how they came to be seen eating dinner together in a tavern…

I’ve answered a few questions about the eyes I use on my Sims at various times, in comments. So to make it easier for everyone, I’ll try to gather my favorites here for future reference.

Now that we have seen how genetic inheritence works in the game, you may want to change the genes of some of your existing Sims for the benefit of their future babies.

Verity has asked how to extract a Sim’s picture from his character file. This is how I get the pictures I put on the bio pages, so I do it all the time. Here’s a quick step-by-step.

Making custom content inheritable

Published July 13, 2007 09:44 PM

In the first article I explained how the Sims genetics system works. It is certainly one of my favorite features of the game, but even if you have downloaded default replacement skins and eyes as I recommended, it’s a lot more fun if you can make all of your custom content inheritable.
