Fixed the black scalp bug

Published November 11, 2009 09:33 AM

I believe I mentioned this in the chat a few weeks ago: I had noticed that Paul’s scalp had gone black, and any hair that showed his scalp looked AWFUL with his blond hair. Even his current hair had a black stripe down the part, as if he were growing out his roots:

Despite everything, it was a beautiful chapter. I noticed it wasn’t as lenghty in lyrical descriptions, but the most recent chapters have been that way too. Is this part of your new style, Jenny?

Depression in Gwynn

Published October 14, 2009 06:12 AM

I wish he had cited sources in this thing, but I guess I can’t expect too much scholarly rigor from cnn.com:

Many, many children who are depressed will become significantly better if the troubles in their lives are addressed and corrected. An amazing recent example of this comes from a study that found that when a depressed mother takes an antidepressant medication and responds, the effect on depressive symptoms is bigger in her kids than it is in her. She takes the pill, but they get the biggest benefit.

Exorcising Saeward

Published October 7, 2009 11:55 AM

This was how his dreams fell apart.

I wrote that last night just before I climbed up to bed.

Like most nights, for a few lucid minutes ideas about the coming chapter twined themselves up with a plan of attack for a programming problem I’m having at work. Then I fell limp, suddenly exhausted. And still I slept awfully.

Consanguinity and Affinity

Published September 16, 2009 06:57 AM

The topic of consanguinity in marriage came up in the comments, so I started wondering about the rules — this heretofore being an issue I have mostly ignored in the story.
